Since we started tracking Steam hardware in early 2026, our system has logged hundreds of stock changes across 5 products and 21 regions. Until now, that data was only visible as a history table on each product page. Today we're making it much more useful.
The new Restock Analytics page transforms raw stock change data into visual patterns that help you time your purchase better.
What You'll Find
Restock Heatmap
A 7×24 grid showing when restocks happen most frequently, broken down by day of week and hour of day. All times are displayed in your local timezone. You can immediately see whether restocks cluster around certain hours or days — and plan your monitoring accordingly.
Activity by Day & Hour
Bar charts showing which days of the week and which hours see the most stock drops. If you're deciding when to keep your phone nearby for alerts, these charts tell you when it matters most.
Region Breakdown
Not all countries are restocked equally. Our region breakdown shows restock frequency across all 21 tracked countries — from the US and Germany to smaller markets like Bulgaria and Hungary. If your country rarely gets restocked, you'll know to rely on alerts rather than manual checking.
Duration Distribution
When stock appears, how quickly does it sell out? This chart shows the distribution of in-stock durations. If most restocks last under 5 minutes, you know that manual checking isn't a viable strategy — you need instant alerts.
Key Metrics
At the top of the page, summary cards show total restocks, average duration in stock, time since last restock, average interval between restocks, most active region, and how many of the 21 regions have seen activity.
Filters That Actually Work
The sidebar lets you filter by product and time period. Every chart and metric on the page updates instantly when you change filters. Want to see only Steam Controller patterns for the last 7 days? One click. Curious how Steam Deck 1TB OLED compares over 90 days? Another click.
You can also link directly to a filtered view. Each product page now has a "View Restock Analytics" link that opens the analytics page pre-filtered to that specific product.
How We Collect This Data
Our monitoring system checks the Steam Store every 60 seconds across all 21 regions. Every time a product transitions between "out of stock", "in stock", or "reservation", we log the exact timestamp. This gives us minute-level precision on when restocks happen and how long they last.
Data is retained for 90 days. The analytics page processes all available history client-side, so it's always showing the freshest data without any caching delay.
Why This Matters
Steam hardware — especially the Steam Controller and Steam Deck OLED — sells out within minutes of appearing. Scalpers use automated tools to buy instantly, leaving regular buyers with a tiny window. Understanding restock patterns gives you an edge:
- Know when to be ready — If restocks cluster around Tuesday-Thursday afternoons, that's when you should have your Steam account open and payment ready
- Set realistic expectations — If average stock duration is 6 minutes, you know you need instant alerts, not periodic checking
- Choose your region wisely — If your country gets restocked 3x less than Germany, consider whether cross-border shipping is an option
Patterns aren't guarantees
Analytics show you when restocks are likely — but they can happen anytime. Get instant Telegram alerts the moment stock appears, so you never miss a drop regardless of timing.
