Restock Heatmap — Best Time to Check

When do restocks happen most often? This heatmap shows the distribution of stock appearances by day of week and hour of day, displayed in your local timezone. Darker cells indicate more frequent restocks during that time slot.

Activity by Day of Week

Some days see significantly more restocks than others. Valve's inventory system appears to follow internal schedules that create predictable weekly patterns. Use this chart to identify which days are worth monitoring more closely.

Activity by Hour of Day

Restocks tend to cluster around specific hours. This chart shows the hourly distribution in your local timezone. If you're deciding when to enable notifications or manually check the store, these peak hours are your best bet.

Region Breakdown — Which Countries Get Restocked Most?

Not all regions are restocked equally. Some countries receive new stock more frequently than others, likely due to warehouse proximity and demand patterns. This breakdown shows restock frequency across all 21 tracked countries: US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Australia.

Product Breakdown — Restock Frequency by Device

How often does each product come back in stock? The Steam Controller, Steam Deck 256GB, Steam Deck 512GB OLED, Steam Deck 1TB OLED, and Steam Docking Station all have different restock patterns. Some products are restocked in batches across all regions simultaneously, while others appear region by region.

How Long Does Stock Last?

When a product comes back in stock, how quickly does it sell out? This distribution shows the typical window you have to complete a purchase. Most restocks sell out within minutes — which is why real-time alerts are essential for securing Steam hardware at retail price.

How to Use Restock Analytics

Understanding Restock Patterns

Steam hardware restocks are unpredictable by design — Valve doesn't publish schedules or give advance notice. However, by analyzing hundreds of restock events across 21 countries, clear patterns emerge. Certain days and hours consistently see more stock drops than others, and some regions are restocked more frequently.

This analytics dashboard processes every stock change detected by our monitoring system, which polls the Steam Store API every 60 seconds. When a product transitions from "out of stock" to "in stock" (or "reservation"), we record the exact timestamp, region, and product. When it sells out again, we calculate the duration. This gives us precise data on restock timing, frequency, and sell-out speed.

Tips for Buying Steam Hardware

  • Check the heatmap — Identify the days and hours when restocks happen most in your timezone. Focus your manual checks during these windows.
  • Look at duration stats — If average stock duration is under 10 minutes, you need instant alerts. Manual checking won't be fast enough.
  • Compare regions — If your country rarely gets restocked, consider whether a neighboring region might ship to you.
  • Watch the interval — The average time between restocks tells you how patient you need to be. If it's days, not hours, alerts become even more valuable.
  • Filter by product — Each product has different patterns. The Steam Controller restocks differently than the Steam Deck OLED models.

Why Stock Sells Out So Fast

Steam hardware — particularly the Steam Controller and Steam Deck OLED — is in extremely high demand. Scalpers use automated tools to buy units the moment they appear, then resell on eBay and other marketplaces at 2-3x retail price. Legitimate buyers compete against these bots, which is why stock typically lasts only 5-15 minutes.

The best strategy is to have your Steam account logged in, payment method saved, and shipping address confirmed before a restock happens. When you receive an alert, you need to complete checkout within minutes — not browse and decide.

About Our Data

We monitor the following products across all 21 supported regions:

  • Steam Controller — Valve's trackpad-based controller, released May 2026. Extremely high demand, sells out in minutes.
  • Steam Deck 256GB — The entry-level handheld PC with LCD display and NVMe storage.
  • Steam Deck 512GB OLED — Mid-tier OLED model with larger battery and improved display.
  • Steam Deck 1TB OLED — Premium OLED model with maximum storage.
  • Steam Docking Station — Official dock for connecting Steam Deck to external displays.

Data is retained for 90 days. Older events are automatically removed. All timestamps are stored in UTC and converted to your local timezone for display. The 1-minute polling interval means we detect restocks within 60 seconds of them appearing on the Steam Store.
